“2010 Summer Trends and Hairstyles for Men”

The trends for men this spring/summer 2010. Haircuts, what are the lengths and the styles that will be 'trendy to wear' during the warm season of 2010? Are the haircuts getting longer?

For the men, we will be seeing a lot more natural movement rather than the sleek and straight looks we saw last season. So lots of curls and texture, perfect for that relaxed

summer look. Another trend likely to be popular is influenced by a strong 80's feel with a long, heavy fringe and shaved sides and back.

Men and hair coloring. Yes or not? And which are the trendy colors for the new season?

Color will always be predominantly the realm of women but with 40% of our clientele being male, rising to nearly 60% in the city - it is an area which is being explored more and more by our male clients.

At the moment, one of the most popular reasons for men having their hair colored is to camouflage grey hair.

For men, it is more about enhancing the hairstyle and natural hair color rather than following the latest color trend like women do.

Who is the 'style icon' for the spring/summer season? Who is inspiring the hairdressers, and who is inspiring the public?

Even more so for men, it is all about individual style and suitability. It is quite rare for a man to go into a salon with a picture of a celebrity. They are more likely to know what type of style they want.

What style of haircut do you suggest for the 'businessman' who still wants to have a trendy and up-to-date look but has to deal with an 'office dress code'? And for a younger and more free type of guy?

For businessmen then shorter style is a must, ask for clean, sharp and short outlines that shows off healthy hair.

For younger men, why not try a rock and roll influenced style, such as the quiffed James Dean 50's style. It's a great look for guys as it's a bit of cool nostalgia yet at the same time effortlessly sexy.
